Our Story
Rock 'n' Soul Events was born through the realisation that wedding DJs didn’t have to be cheesy, predictable, or stuck on the same old playlists. Couples deserve DJs who love music as much as they do — so we created a fresh and stylish alternative to your typical wedding DJ.

With over 10 years behind the decks, we have held residencies at some of Manchester's most famous venues including the Night & Day Café, 42s, and Band On The Wall, as well festival appearances such as Dot To Dot and Kendal Calling. Along the way, we’ve shared stages with artists such as Blossoms, Courteeners, The Cribs, The Maccabees, Dua Lipa and Johnny Marr to name a few. As well the clubnights and festivals, we have DJ'd at hundreds of weddings, and private and corporate events for all occasions.
What We Do
We provide the soundtrack to your night using professional sound and lighting systems. We believe that looking the part is just as important as the music that is played which is why we have built bespoke DJ booths designed to enhance the look and feel of your wedding.

We are big music fans and have a particular passion for indie, rock 'n' roll, funk, disco, soul, Motown, and the finest party classics from across the decades. We specialise in creating dance floors that feel personal, energetic and unforgettable.
We are enthusiastic in what we do however we are not your cheesy wedding DJ. We will not be talking over your favourite songs or telling jokes but we will ensure that all the key introductions and announcements are covered with professionalism.

Requests
We like to work with people that love music and are keen to provide the tunes that you and your guests are really into, which is why we will ask you to provide a list of songs and artists that you like prior to the event, via our online planning form. This helps us to gain a good understanding of the music that you are into and helps us to ensure that you hear all of your favourite tunes on the night.

We are also happy to receive requests from guests on the night which we will endeavor to play as long as they fit in with the theme of the night. You can also send us a 'Don't Play List' of any songs which you don't want to hear — your guests might have music tastes which differ to what you want from your night.

Your list of songs helps us to get started however we are good at reading a room and mixing in appropriate songs around any requests which help keep the party flowing all night.
Our Style
We know how much effort goes into making your wedding look perfect, which is why we come suited and booted to fit in with your guests.
Timings
A typical DJ set would be from 7pm to midnight but we're flexible if this needs to be adjusted. Typically we would setup discreetly whilst your guests have dinner so that your party is ready to get started once the meals have finished. If you would prefer us to setup early so that we don't interrupt any proceedings then we can do that subject to venue and availability.
